Missions : Communion Rail Offering for May

Are you interested in beautifying our church grounds?

The May Communion Rail Offering will be used to help bring to life our Trustees’ Plan to make the front of the church vibrant once again.  The plan is to rework and then re-establish 8 beds around the Narthex using low maintenance bedding, plants, and accents, and then expand that to other beds when funding allows.

Thank you for helping make our church inviting and attractive!

October Missions Projects

COMMUNION RAIL OFFERING FOR OCTOBER

The offering for October is TUMC’S Backpack Blessings. Missions is excited to be able to start delivering breakfasts and lunches to students at W. S. Ryan who would be without these foods over the weekends. Missions is asking for your help in funding this endeavor during the month of October. We hope to start delivering food to Ryan on November 2. Thank you so much for truly helping feed these children. Food is delivered every Friday to the school, thanks to your generosity.

LAST CALL FOR PEANUT BUTTER

This is the LAST Sunday to bring your jars of peanut butter for donation to the Denton Community Food Center!

Let’s break our Personal Best record of 126 jars!

COMMUNION RAIL OFFERING FOR MARCH

This Sunday, March 1, the Communion Rail Offering will be used to support the mission work of Edu and Krista Garcia in Spain.

Krista grew up here as part of our Trinity Family, and visits when they’re back in the area. Our congregation has supported their work for around five years now.

Take three minutes, and watch a short presentation about what they do in Spain to plant new churches and spread the love of Christ.

Thank you, Trinity Family, for all that you do to support Missions, from International to Local

REMINDERS

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22 IS EAT AT BJ’S DAY!

Take a flyer with you after worship and give it to your server. A portion of your bill will go to support Missions projects at TUMC!

THIS IS THE SPOT!

Remember to bring those jars of PEANUT BUTTER for the Denton Community Food Center every Sunday in February! We can beat our previous record of 126 jars, can’t we?

Missions Moment

From Missions Chair Jean Peterson:

NUMBERS     NUMBERS     NUMBERS

What does the number 126 have to do with TUMC?

That’s the largest amount of jars of peanut butter we have donated to the Denton Community Food Center ever!

Could we improve that number? YES!!!

If everyone just brought 1 jar of peanut butter during February, just imagine how much we could give! Please bring all the peanut butter jars you can by Sunday, March 1 so we can start this new decade in a huge way!!!

MORE NUMBERS

At our recent blood drive on Sunday, January 26, our church donated 57 units of blood!

We have never donated that much before, and even adding together our last 2 blood drives, we weren’t able to donate that much blood! This amazing amount of blood given is because of the generosity of those of you who could donate your blood. (Do you think Carter BloodCare will be asking for more blood from us since this was such a huge success sometime soon???).

THANK YOU!

Sunday, February 2, 2020

Good Sunday Morning, Trinity Family!

The Communion Rail Offering for February 2 is for Our Daily Bread, which serves the homeless and at-risk in Denton. They will use our offering to provide breakfasts and lunches Monday – Saturday, give passes for showers and bus/train service, provide laundry vouchers, and help with job placement, just to name a few of their services. Our Daily Bread relies on donations to be able to assist others. Our church has helped support Our Daily Bread for many years.

The Missions‘ project for February is to donate jars of peanut butter to the Denton Community Food Center. Every family who comes to the Food Center is offered a jar of peanut butter, so peanut butter is constantly being sent home with the needy. Please help our church supply an abundant amount of this needed food!

We hope to see you this morning at church!

If you can’t be there in person, join us on YouTube for our 11AM LiveStream!

THANK YOU

THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!

Many thanks for your donations for the Denton Wesley Foundation. TUMC donated 127 cans of soup, 77 canned meats, and a few other food items, for a total of 213 pounds. The DWF picked up our donations and were very pleased!

Now let’s double our donation of pounds of jars of peanut butter to the Denton Community Food Center this month!

BRING YOUR PEANUT BUTTER TO THE NARTHEX EACH SUNDAY IN FEBRUARY!

The Food Center is moving to a new and larger building February 3 on Loop 288 in Denton. They are expecting more clients and, therefore, hope to obtain more volunteers to serve, since the Food Center is completely manned by volunteers. The Center is open every weekday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Several members of TUMC already volunteer there, and we hope more will join! Please call the Food Center at 940-382-0807 to find out more information, or to schedule a training.

Every Thursday evening, a group of volunteers pack bags for our Backpack Blessings recipients. This is a recent picture of the breakfasts and lunches our church gave to children at W.S. Ryan Elementary for a 3 day weekend. We can always use monetary donations to continue this endeavor!

Please take a minute to watch this presentation about Backpack Blessings, put together by Lisa Saladin:

Mark your envelope or check “Backpack Blessings” to donate to this worthy cause!
