Staying Connected

We’re Trying Something New Tonight!

Instead of the pre-recorded message we’ve been posting during THE WELL, Pastor Jim will host a LIVE Zoom meeting for anyone who wants to join.

Trinity Members should have received and email yesterday with a link to the meeting and a password. If you don’t see it, check your spam filter. If you STILL don’t have it, please email Jim so he can send it to you directly.

For obvious reasons, we will not be posting those links to the Website or Facebook.

Join us at 5:30 – it’ll be fun!

MOMENTS OF WORSHIP

Hi, All!

Your Moments of Worship submissions have been wonderful and uplifting, and WE NEED MORE OF THEM!

I have a request, though, about songs: if you can, please send the title of the song, and the composer. We need to be able to credit the original artists who created the music we’re sharing. As it is now, I have several songs that are going to have to be Muted because of Copyright Claims. I’ll wait until tomorrow to mute them, in case you want another listen. Giving credit may not please all the copyright holders, but it’s worth a shot.

Remember that you can also send videos of poetry readings, prayers, scripture or devotionals. Get the kids involved! Share an activity your family is doing to stay connected to your faith when we can’t physically be together at the church. We need to see and hear each others’ faces and voices right now.

Send your videos to me at fishlady02871@yahoo.com, and we’ll get them out for everyone to see!

Thanks! – Marie Snider, Communications Director

Keeping Connected

Hello, Trinity Family!

Some notes, updates, thoughts, and requests to keep us connected while we ride-out these uncertain times.

It goes without saying, I think, but all scheduled activities at the church are canceled or postponed for the time being. We’ll be in touch when this changes.

In the meantime, your church staff is working to bring new content every day on our YouTube channel.

Links will be available on the website and through Facebook

There will be a pre-recorded worship service posted to YouTube each Sunday at 8:30 AM.

Pastor Jim will bring a message at 5:30 on Wednesday night, when we would usually gather for THE WELL.

Head of Children’s Ministry Denise Davis will have special video devotionals for the kids on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 PM.

Be watching all week for our special Moments of Worship!

What are Moments of Worship? Three to five minute videos, created by YOU, beloved family, to share with the rest of the congregation!

Record yourself reciting a poem, singing a song, reading a devotional, giving a prayer – whatever type of encouragement and love you’d like to share.

We’d particularly like to see things from our Youth and our Children right now.

Email it to me (Marie) at fishlady02871@yahoo.com. If the file’s too big to attach, let me know and we’ll find another way.

Connecting For Christ

Trinity United Methodist congregation, your church family is here for you.

If there is anything that we can do during this time, we want you to feel free to reach out to Rev. Bowden or the church office. Whether its getting help with groceries or making sure that you have all the medicines you need, please let us know how we can help lift any burdens you may be feeling at this time.

If you would like to volunteer to help out during this time, please let Rev. Bowden know (or contact Kimi King kking@unt.edu; 940-597-4802).

Thank you, & please chime in on ways you think that we can be good shepherds during this time.

peace in god’s love,

Kimi

Reminder: Though all activities are cancelled, the church office remains open for regular hours at this time. Call or email if you have need of us.

The Welcome Center Needs Your Help!

From Welcome Center Organizer Kimi King:

We need you as part of the Trinity Welcome Team!

The Welcome Center in the Narthex sets up goodies for visitors and members to “grab & go” as they head into service or off to Sunday School. It allows us to hit “pause” for a moment & say hello to old or new friends so that we connect.

There are two ways you can share your gifts:

Set up and clean up – You need to arrive by 8:10am to put out food & drink, but you do not need to stay the whole time, so long as clean up can be done by 12:10pm (groups may want to share responsibilities).

Providing food/drink – This requires dropping off food/drink donations at the church before your designated Sunday (you can freeze homemade goodies & drop them off during the week in Lowrie freezer marked for the Welcome Center).

Feel free to sign up for as many slots as you want. We also encourage families and groups (Bible Study, Youth, Prayer Team, etc.) to sign up because worshiping and being in fellowship together is always such a gift from God!

Please review the available slots at this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805084fafac2ca6fd0-helping1

If you have any questions, please email Kimi King (kking@unt.edu).

Bless you for being part of this church!

From the MISSIONS committee:

NUMBERS   NUMBERS   NUMBERS
What does the number 126 have to do with TUMC? That’s the largest amount of jars of peanut butter we have donated to the Denton Community Food Center ever! Could we improve that number? YES!!! If everyone just brought 1 jar of peanut butter during February, just imagine how much we could give!

Please bring all the peanut butter jars you can by Sunday, March 1 so we can start this new decade in a huge way!!!

DON’T FORGET: ONE SERVICE ONLY THIS WEEK, AT 11AM

THE WELL TONIGHT

It’s a cold, damp day in Denton, but the warmest place to be is at THE WELL tonight!

Dinner at 5:30 with activities for all ages to follow!

Sunday, February 2, 2020

Good Sunday Morning, Trinity Family!

The Communion Rail Offering for February 2 is for Our Daily Bread, which serves the homeless and at-risk in Denton. They will use our offering to provide breakfasts and lunches Monday – Saturday, give passes for showers and bus/train service, provide laundry vouchers, and help with job placement, just to name a few of their services. Our Daily Bread relies on donations to be able to assist others. Our church has helped support Our Daily Bread for many years.

The Missions‘ project for February is to donate jars of peanut butter to the Denton Community Food Center. Every family who comes to the Food Center is offered a jar of peanut butter, so peanut butter is constantly being sent home with the needy. Please help our church supply an abundant amount of this needed food!

We hope to see you this morning at church!

If you can’t be there in person, join us on YouTube for our 11AM LiveStream!
